PERMITTING
Permitting is a crucial part of any project as it confirms that the construction plans conform to required codes and standards. CEI has a comprehensive understanding of and considerable expertise with managing, reviewing and evaluating complex highway use permit applications and interpreting plans for compliance with agency standards, regulations and policies. CEI staff completed development of a comprehensive Permits Manual for the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) that instructs each of ADOT’s Districts on how to implement and approve permits. This was completed to standardize the permit review and approval process and streamline the application process. Our permitting specialists also have an understanding of FHWA and traffic control requirements as well as determining right-of-way encroachment violations.
Also, as agency assets and communities continue to grow, their infrastructure systems (transportation systems, utilities, etc.) also expand. The volume of permits required justifies the need for local and public agencies to utilize staff augmentation for permitting support. CEI has provided this support to Departments of Transportation and local public agencies for hundreds of projects. Our construction inspectors have provided inspections for development of master planned communities as well as other types of projects. Construction items that we inspect include, but are not limited to, grading and drainage, sewer, water, storm drain, concrete, paving, curb/gutter/sidewalk and landscaping. An important part of any permitting process is proper documentation. Our inspectors implement documentation procedures that clients require for each permit.
