The Northern Parkway corridor is a major east-west arterial located in an area that is experiencing rapid growth. The improvements are being built in phases. When fully complete, it will encompass 12.5 miles and establish a direct corridor from SR 303L to SR 101L. The Phase 2 project is constructing 3.5 miles of frontage roads from Dysart Road to 111th Avenue along with a five-span girder bridge over the Agua Fria River. The project is a partnership between the cities of El Mirage, Glendale, Peoria, and the Maricopa County Department of Transportation as the lead agency.

Consultant Engineering, Inc. is providing full service construction administration and inspection for all project elements including:

        • construction of two-lane eastbound and westbound frontage roads parallel to the existing Northern Avenue alignment between
Dysart Road and Agua Fria River
        • installation of five new traffic signals along the frontage roads and at 115th Avenue
        • construction of a four-lane all-weather bridge over the Agua Fria River to replace the existing at-grade river crossing
        • other items such as major earthwork and storm drains, a five-barrel reinforced box culvert, lighting, and landscaping
          throughout the project
